Skating Lessons

Skating Lessons at Palouse Ice Rink

Whether you’re stepping on the ice for the first time or working to refine your technique, we have a path for you. The Palouse Ice Rink offers structured group lessons through our Learn to Skate and Aspire programs, as well as private lessons with experienced coaches.

Most skaters follow a natural progression: Learn to Skate builds the fundamentals — stopping, stroking, and crossovers — the Aspire program bridges the gap to figure skating, and private lessons let a coach tailor instruction to your goals. Lessons are open to all ages, adults included.

Not sure where to start? Read through the options below, or contact us and we’ll help you find the right fit.

Learn to Skate

Our Learn to Skate program is designed for beginners of all ages — from young children to adults. Sessions are structured, fun, and taught by qualified instructors. Visit the Learn to Skate page for current session info and registration.

Private Lessons

Private and small group lessons are available with our coaches during Figure Skating sessions and club ice time. Lessons must be scheduled during Palouse Hills Skating Club (PHSC) club ice or a designated figure skate session — private instruction is not permitted during public skate-only sessions.

Please contact coaches directly to arrange scheduling. Lessons must not interfere with other skaters’ lanes or safety.
