The Palouse Ice Rink is governed by a volunteer board of directors committed to keeping this community facility thriving for generations to come.
Mark began playing hockey as an adult and found it a great way to keep in shape while enjoying team camaraderie. He coached his son in youth hockey “until he was better than me” and found watching kids develop and compete to be a true joy. Making sure the youth of the area have access to a regulation sheet of ice is a personal goal. In his other life, Mark is Director of the Idaho Agricultural Experiment Station at the University of Idaho, conducting research in lactation and nutrition.
Tony joined the Palouse Ice Rink Board in 2014 and was elected Vice President in 2016. He became a customer of the rink in its second year of operation, playing ice hockey for the first time at age 32. After participating on several committees and seeing the value the rink offers the Palouse, he accepted an invitation to join the full board. Tony graduated from the University of Idaho and has worked at NRS for over 24 years, serving as CFO and Human Resources Director for 15 of those years.
Pete is the Founding President of the Palouse Ice Rink and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. An active skater, hockey player, and referee, he coached youth hockey for eight years and co-founded the Science on Ice field trip program for 5th graders, now in its eleventh year. He is also the chief mechanic for the chiller, constantly tinkering to keep it running. Pete is a scientist with the Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station in Moscow.
Travis, an avid NHL and youth hockey fan, joined the board in 2018. He moved to Moscow in 1988 to attend the University of Idaho, where he earned undergraduate and advanced degrees. Travis is a geotechnical engineer and geologist, and CEO of GeoProfessional Innovation Corporation. He and his wife Connie are proud to be raising three kids in the family-friendly Palouse region.
